The Maltese archipelago, consisting of the islands of Malta, GOZO, Comino and other minor isles, lies almost at the centre of the Mediterranean Sea, some 72 km to the South of Sicily. Indeed the Island of Gozo is only 72 sq. km itself. Gozo is not a smaller Malta; it is different in appearance and character. It is rustic and unspoilt yet with all the modern facilities expected by today’s traveller.
RELAX AMIDST A WEALTH OF CULTURE...
Like its sister island Malta, GOZO offers a real treat for those who have an interest in matters historical. One excellent way to get a quick history lesson, is to visit the GOZO 360° Experience. Twenty minutes long, in all major languages, this presentation will provide you with a good insight. Shows in the theatre in Victoria between the main square and the Citadel. Plus, with two theatres in the capital, Victoria, the visitor is spoilt for choice.
SAILING, DIVING, FISHING, BOATING, JET SKIING....
GOZO has some of the best dive sites in the Mediterranean.. and in the clearest of waters (see Sports & Arts page). For those of you who love the sea, Gozo offers a superb location to enjoy your favourite sports. Whether you are a seasoned professional or a beginner, there is something for all. Bring your own equipment or hire locally at very reasonable rates (like everything on Gozo)!!
Then afterwards, relax in one of the bars or restaurants by the sea or in town and wind down the day with the sunset!
